Trump calls on Iran for nuclear weapons stand

According to U.S. President Donald Trump, Iran is developing missiles that will eventually be able to hit the United States. At the same time, he wants a very clear message from Iran that it will never make nuclear weapons.

According to President Trump in his State of the Union speech, Iran has missile systems that can be used to threaten some European countries, and also U.S. military bases. However, he explained, the country is now developing the technology to be able to launch missiles at the continental United States.

He said that America is looking for clear, unequivocal, and direct words from Iran that the country will not ever build nuclear weapons. He also stated that up until now, he has not heard the “clear words” that would equal a promise from Iran.

President Trump pointed out that the last year, after the Iranian nuclear sites had been bombed, Tehran was warned by the highest level that it should not resume nuclear weapon activities. According to President Trump, if Iran decides to pursue nuclear programs as well as missile programs capable of delivering those nuclear warheads over long distances, then the U.S. can choose its own ways of responding.

He said that Iran is responsible for most of the terror acts around the globe and that the United States will make sure that it does not get nuclear weapons. Strength makes peace, and that is what drives America. However, he also acknowledged that the best solution is a dialog, and peace talks are being held.

Besides, during his speech, President Trump further blamed Iran’s leadership and militias for causing unrest in different areas. He took the occasion to deliver a message to the Iranian regime by recalling the killing of Major General Qassem Soleimani who was blamed by various U.S. officials for multiple attacks.

In his allegations, he further spoke about how the Iranian government is responsible for the killing of thousands during protests and has dealt harshly with demonstrators. The president insinuated that from time to time America has opposed the practice of capital punishment, and in some cases, the death sentences were not carried out because of these efforts.

It is worth remembering that Iran has been at pains to assure the international community of its peaceful nuclear intentions and to reject the accusation that it is working on making nuclear weapons.

Talks and negotiations about the nuclear and missile activities of Iran have been going on for some time both at the level of international fora and bilaterally. Iran’s actions are being closely scrutinized by the international community in the realization that what happens there can have global ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌consequences.
